SUMMARY

It’s safe and ethically sound to purchase N95 masks for you and your family.

Check the CDC’s approved respirator list to ensure the masks that you’re purchasing are premium quality.

American-made masks support American manufacturers and keep your money in our communities.

KN95 masks are available as well.

Buying an N95 mask does not have to be a guilty experience -- despite fraud, purchasing snafus, and the initial rush to get masks in the hands of front line health professionals, plenty of safe, reputable masks have made their way to those most in need.

Masks are available for public purchase, and you can do so with the knowledge that it’s not a zero-sum game.

Are N95 Masks Available?

The good news is that n95 masks are available to the public now, and many small mask makers are having difficulty finding buyers for their masks.

Our American partner, ALG Health, manufactures NIOSH-approved N95 respirators in Michigan, and has extra supplies leftover after providing orders to health care facilities.

Health care workers and organizations have the PPE they need to keep themselves safe, so we’ve turned our focus to making masks available to the public.

Where Can I Buy N95 Masks?

When the pandemic started, many flocked to home improvement and hardware stores like Lowe’s and Home Depot, quickly exhausting their supply of N95 masks and forcing others, both manufacturers and customers, to kick into gear.

Now, N95 masks are seemingly available everywhere. However, it’s important to note that many online marketplaces are rife with fraud, and there are many shady stores that promise N95 masks but do not deliver.

We recommend using the CDC’s approved respirator list to ensure the masks that you’re buying are certified safe. Both ALG Health’s Patriot Mask and Dasheng’s DTC3X, the two N95 masks we currently offer, meet this lofty standard.

KN95 Masks are also available, but the CDC does not regulate them as they do N95 masks

Where Can I Buy KN95 Masks?

KN95 masks are very similar to N95 masks, and are also widely available for public consumption. This comes with a word of warning, however.

Buying KN95 masks online can be extra tricky -- the CDC reports that as many as 60% of the KN95 masks did not meet the standards they claimed, but the body does not certify or approve masks. Our masks have passed filtration tests, which is a great assurance of quality for a mask type that the CDC doesn’t approve.

NIOSH-certified N95 masks are available to the public, and purchasing through Sureway Health will not keep masks out of the hands (and off of the faces) of the frontline healthcare workers that need them most. We also match 5% of our mask sales in the form of donations to health care organizations.
